Technology
Brushing is done with the help of special brushes that remove the top layer of stone. At the same time, the brushes select the softer fractions of the stone and smooth out the harder fractions. Usage
Stone with a brushed surface is excellent for wall cladding; often, it is also used for kitchen or bathroom countertops. This is due to the fact that taking care of a non-relief surface is much more difficult than that of a standard polished one.
In the stone processing industry, bush hammering technology is used to obtain various types of textures and create anti-slip surfaces. This type of treatment is commonly used for hard natural stone (granite, marble, slate, gabbro, basalt and some types of limestone).
Technique
Initially, the technique of working with a bush hammer consisted of creating an impact, which would result in chipping off of the small pieces of stone. To obtain the desired surface texture, automated processing started to use shock-rotational technology. Toothed rollers mounted on a spring-loaded rotating plate have a major point impact, which destroys the surface of the stone and makes it rough.
Today, bush-hammered stone surface treatment has gained popularity and is increasingly being used in various types of projects. This treatment is practical as a non-slip surface is widely used for looking visually attractive in various interior and facade decoration design solutions.
Natural chipping is done on both sides of the slab (front and back) or on one side, and the back is calibrated. Parts with a calibrated one side are usually used in finishing areas where it is necessary to control the evenness of the finished surface more accurately.
